My New Home

My New Home

Mom and Dad, you have no idea
How beautiful it is up here.

I flew to heaven with wings of gold;
I know it’s hard, for I was young, not old.

God called me home, he needed me.
I’m up here helping—happy and free.

On earth I was an angel to you;
Now I’m one in heaven, too.

I’m not afraid to be living above,
And I promise to send you all my love.

Pay special attention to all you see,
Because within everything is a part of me.

I’m in the rainbows that color the sky,
And in the breeze that blows on by.

In butterflies and hummingbirds,
In people’s actions, their looks, and words.

In lilies that grow in the pond,
You’ll always feel our special bond.

To my friends and family, whom I love so much,
Know that you can feel my touch.

In raindrops, or sun that warms your face
Is the way I wrap you in my embrace.

Many of you wonder how you’ll get through:
Do the things I loved to do.

That’s how you can honor me;
I’m with you for eternity.

We will meet up in the sky—
I say so long, and not goodbye.
